In addition to the collection of more than 25,000 films, the Lichtspiel has two special libraries, which can be visited on site by appointment only. The catalogue can be consulted online in advance through the Lichtspiel database.

The formate 9.5 mm introduced by Pathé in 1922 became a very popular formate in Switzerland as well. Lichtpiel celebrates the anniversary of the gauge and its impact on amateur film culture.
